"As long as this box exists, there is something within it.
The question is, what?"

I would like to talk about something very simple. A box. There's a lock on this box and something has been placed inside it. It's not just an ordinary box-it's the human body.

I'm not talking about the outside of the box because, on the outside, each one is different. One is made of silver, one of gold. There is one box that many artists have worked on, while there's another one that no one has worked on-it's just raw wood. Whatever the outside is like doesn't matter. What matters is what is inside. I am not talking about what will happen to the box, because it is bound by the rules of nature. One day it was created, and one day it will not exist anymore. But as long as this box exists, there is something within it. The question is, what? Because until now, we have been mainly concerned about what is on the outside of the box. People talk a lot about how to protect the box and how to decorate it.

A lot has happened because of this box. If it did not exist, there would be no need to create laws; there would be no need for countries. If it did not exist, no one would be rich, and no one would be poor. But the box does exist. And it is locked. As a result, people have speculated, "What could be in the box?" Some people say there are diamonds, and some people say there's nothing. Some say the box will be opened in heaven, and you will obtain what is inside it then. A lot of effort has been spent trying to open the box. People have prayed in front of the lock; they have put garlands over it. Many people have come with bundles of keys, thinking, "One of these should do the trick."

To me, this lock is ignorance. And what can open it is something that has been called the king of all knowledge. And this is the key I give to people so that they can open their hearts, open the lock on that box, and discover what resides within them, which resides in all human beings.

A human being is the marriage of two things: the finite and the infinite. The mortal and the immortal have come together. The indestructible and the destructible have come together. The infinite has been housed in the finite.

The mortal breathes and thinks and sees, and there is a pulse. One day, the two will separate again. The infinite doesn't have anywhere to go. It's everywhere. The finite will go back to the elements that it came from.

And what makes it all so special? The chance to know that one thing that was placed inside. Have you realised what a treasure chest you are sitting upon? You think you have seen the world, and yet, you have not yet seen you. That is much more wonderful. Many times over.

You think you have heard good music? You have not heard you yet. When you hear you, it puts everything else to shame. You think you have felt many things? You have yet to feel you inside. Because there is no feeling like the feeling within a human being.

Can you understand the simplicity of being able to turn within? Can you understand not just the voice of the mind, but the voice of the heart as well? We have heard so much from the mind, but have you heard the heart? Have you heard what you have to say? Have you listened in silence, to you?

How will you know? Let your heart be the judge. Learn the language of the heart. Without words, your heart has much to say to you. No words need to be exchanged. Without a list of credentials, your heart can prove itself to you. It always has. It has always been there for you, and it has always been right. It has never led you astray. Never. Not even once.

Within you is the most incredible pilgrimage to make. The holiest of all places is within you. The most real of all places is within you.

There is a music that accompanies this incredible play of life, and you can listen with your ears open and listen to it,with your ears closed because the symphony playing around you is part of the symphony inside you. Learn to feel not only what is on the outside, but what is on the inside as well, for the play continues to be acted out within you, too.

In this life there is no book. But there is a heart. There is no guideline. But there is a feeling. Have you honed that skill in your life? It is a skill. It has to be honed. It has to be utilised again and again and again. Musicians have to practise. If they stopplaying, they cannot get back into it. Enjoyment-the enjoyment of existence-is also a skill. Either use it or, guess what? Lose it.

There is a festival going on within you, waiting for you to partake of it. Maybe what I am saying sounds too alien to you. Maybe you are used to having a party with your friends. But I am telling you of the possibility of having a party with yourself, and it happens to be the best kind of party because your guest does not have to leave.

There is a symphony playing inside with every breath. Awaken to that possibility. It is a possibility-that is all it is. Yes, it is possible for you to be fulfilled, for you to be in peace with yourself. Yes, it is possible for you to understand the value of each breath. It is possible to acknowledge the yearning of this life. It is possible. It is possible to turn the pain into enjoyment, the confusion into gratitude, the doubt into knowing. It is possible to turn the questions into one answer. One. One answer. What kind of answer? The one answer that does not have a question,
